DR. Ela Banica
President & Founder – ORTHO FACE Foundation
Visionary leader, orthodontist, and advocate for integrated craniofacial care. Dr. Bănică founded ORTHO FACE to bridge orthodontics, breathing science, and posture into a unified vision of prevention and long-term health. She guides the foundation’s mission with over 20 years of international clinical, academic, and educational impact.
Dr. Ela Bănică is the President and visionary founder of ORTHO FACE, a global foundation at the forefront of craniofacial health, functional orthodontics, and integrative breathing science.
A respected leader with over two decades of experience, Dr. Bănică combines clinical excellence with a deep commitment to education, prevention, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Her expertise spans functional and myofunctional orthodontics, craniofacial growth guidance, airway-focused therapies, and postural rehabilitation — redefining how we approach health, from the inside out.
Under her leadership, ORTHO FACE has become a benchmark for innovation in integrated care, empowering professionals and communities to prioritize form, function, and long-term well-being over mere aesthetics.

Dr. David McIntosh
Associate President, ORTHO FACE
ENT surgeon and global educator specializing in pediatric ENT and craniofacial-airway links. Dr. McIntosh brings exceptional academic, clinical, and interdisciplinary insight to ORTHO FACE’s airway-centered vision.
Dr. David McIntosh is an internationally recognized ENT specialist with expertise in paediatric ENT, airway obstruction, and the relationship between facial and dental development and ENT health. As an Associate Professor of ENT at Queensland University, he is the founder of one of Australia’s largest ENT services and leads the world’s largest educational program for dentists and doctors in ENT.
He holds a PhD, paediatric subspecialty qualifications, and an NHMRC scholarship, making him one of the few ENT surgeons in Australia to possess all three. Dr. McIntosh is dedicated to Indigenous health and provides pro bono consultation on Aboriginal health to local organizations.
His work bridges the gap between dentistry, orthodontics, and ENT, offering an integrative approach to craniofacial and airway health. Dr. McIntosh’s leadership and expertise make him an invaluable asset to ORTHO FACE, contributing to holistic patient care and the advancement of
Dr. McIntosh’s achievements include numerous publications, presentations worldwide, and active involvement in professional associations like the Australasian Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
Sandra Coulson
Executive Council – Orofacial Myology
Founder of the Coulson Institute and a global authority in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy. Sandra Coulson supports ORTHO FACE with her decades of expertise in muscle function, therapy training, and orofacial rehabilitation.
Sandra Coulson is a pioneer and leader in the field of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT), with a distinguished career as an innovator, therapist, educator, and international speaker. After earning her degrees in Speech Therapy and Education, followed by a Master’s in Health Sciences from the University of Northern Colorado, Sandra began her career as an itinerant speech therapist and therapy director for a Special Education wing at Tacoma Public Schools.
Sandra has been an influential figure in the field, serving as the past President of the International Association of Orofacial Myology, and has been involved in many professional organizations including the Down Syndrome Association and the Post-Polio Association. She continues to contribute to the profession through international lectures and training therapists globally. Additionally, she serves on the Advisory Board of Heritage College.
Her work and contributions have made her an esteemed member of the global OMT community, and she remains a driving force in advancing the field and improving the lives of countless individuals through her innovative approaches and therapies.
